Not Just a Social Club

Someone ought to tell the president of my parish council that it's not OK to be a practicing Freemason and still call yourself Catholic. Oh, wait, I already tried.

"Oh, but it's only a social club, and at least he comes to Church". Yeah, right.

"Therefore the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic association remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion".

It just falls on deaf ears.
