Human Life International's Statement on the Passing of Senator Edward Kennedy

I know I said I was gone for the weekend, but this is a must read:

Human Life International's Statement on the Passing of Senator Edward Kennedy

We must, as a matter of precept, pray for the salvation of heretical Catholics like Senator Edward Kennedy, but we do not have to praise him let alone extol him with the full honors of a public Catholic funeral and all the adulation that attends such an event. There was very little about Ted Kennedy's life that deserves admiration from a spiritual or moral point of view. He was probably the worst example of a Catholic statesman that one can think of. When all is said and done, he has distorted the concept of what it means to be a Catholic in public life more than anyone else in leadership today.

Obviously we don't know the state of Senator Edward Kennedy's soul upon death. We don't pretend to. We are told by the family that he had the opportunity to confess his sins before a priest, and his priest has said publicly he was "at peace" when he died. For that we are grateful. But it is one thing to confess one's sins and for these matters to be kept, rightfully, private. It is another thing entirely for one who so consistently and publicly advocated for the destruction of unborn human beings to depart the stage without a public repudiation of these views, a public confession, as it were.

It is up to God to judge Senator Kennedy's soul. We, as rational persons, must judge his actions, and his actions were not at all in line with one who values and carefully applies Church teaching on weighty matters. Ted Kennedy's positions on a variety of issues have been a grave scandal for decades, and to honor this "catholic" champion of the culture of death with a Catholic funeral is unjust to those who have actually paid the price of fidelity. We now find out that President Obama will eulogize the Senator at his funeral, an indignity which, following on the heels of the Notre Dame fiasco, leaves faithful Catholics feeling sullied, desecrated and dehumanized by men who seem to look for opportunities to slap the Church in the face and do so with impunity simply because they have positions of power.

It is not enough for Kennedy to have been a "great guy behind the scenes" as we have seen him referred to even by his political opponents. It is also not praiseworthy to put a Catholic rhetorical veneer on his leftist politics that did nothing to advance true justice as the Church sees it or to advance the peace of Christ in this world. Every indication of Senator Kennedy's career, every public appearance, every sound bite showed an acerbic, divisive and partisan political hack for whom party politics were much more infallible than Church doctrines. Whatever one's political affiliation, if one is only "Catholic" to the extent that his faith rhymes with his party line, then his Catholicism is a fraud.

As the Scriptures remind us, there is a time for everything under the sun. This, now, is the time for honesty about our Faith and about those who are called to express it in the public forum. If we do not remind ourselves of the necessity of public confession for public sins such as Senator Kennedy was guilty of, then we are negligent in our embrace of the Faith and we are part of the problem. As Pope Benedict has reminded us recently, charity without truth can easily become mere sentimentality, and we must not fall into that error. A Catholic show of charity for the family must not eclipse the truth that is required of all with eyes to see and ears to hear.

Senator Kennedy needs to be sent to the afterlife with a private, family-only funeral and the prayers of the Church for the salvation of his immortal soul. He will not be missed by the unborn who he betrayed time and time again, nor by the rest of us who are laboring to undo the scandalous example of Catholicism that he gave to three generations of Americans.

Sincerely,

Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer,
President, Human Life International

Development & Peace - Unmasked

LifeSite News does a great job in unmasking the hypocrisy of the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace. I stopped donating to Development and Peace in the year 2000, after they were exposed for donating $140,00 to a radical, feminist, anti-life and anti-family event called the World March of Women. I remember well the hard stares I received from those collecting money for Share Lent and Development & Peace when I voiced my reasons for discontinuing my monetary support of this questionably Catholic arm of the CCCB.

This time, Development & Peace has been exposed for supporting pro abortion groups in Mexico, to the tune of over a million dollars. Is this where you thought your money was going when you stuffed the D&P envelope with your hard earned cash?

I just have one question - how can Development & Peace be allowed to continue to solicit donations from Catholics during Lent? Oh, I know, it's because D & P is an arm of the CCCB - the very same arm that is reponsible for the Winnepeg Tragedy (the incident where our bishops refused to acknowledge the encyclical of Pope Paul VI, Humane Vitae that deals with the sanctity of life.) It all makes sense now, doesn't it?

Rosary Novena to Stop Abortions

I get a lot of emails forwarded to me, but very few of this nature. This one, copied below in its entirety, was sent to me by a pro-life friend. It asks for a Rosary Novena to stop the Freedom of Choice Act which will soon be passed in the US unless God intervenes. Please read it and get out your rosaries for this intention. The novena starts Sunday. Remember Barack Obama said his first presidential act will be to sign the FOCA. He can only be stopped by prayer.

From Lord David Alton on USA Freedom of Choice Act

Dear Friends, If you are apposed to abortion then there is bad news on the horizon. For those of you who do not know, the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is set to be signed if the US Congress passes it on January 21-22 of 2009. The FOCA is the next sick chapter in the book of abortion.

If made a law then all limitations on abortion will be lifted which will result in the following:

1) All hospitals, including Catholic hospitals will be required to perform abortions upon request. If this happens Bishops vow to close down all Catholic hospitals, more then 30% of all hospitals in the United States .

2) Partial birth abortions would be legal and have no limitations.

3) All U.S. tax payers would be funding abortions.

4) Parental notification will no longer be required.

5) The number of abortions will increase by a minimum of 100,000 annually.

Perhaps most importantly the government will now have control in the issue of abortion. This could result in a future amendment that would force women by law to have abortions in certain situations (rape, down syndrome babies, etc) and could even regulate how many children women are allowed to have. Needless to say this information is disturbing, but sadly true.

As Catholics, as Christians, as anyone who is against the needless killing of innocent children, we must stand as one. We must stop this horrific act before it becomes a law.

The Plan: To say a novena (9 days of prayer) along with fasting starting on January 11th. For Catholics, the prayer of choice will be the rosary with intentions to stop the FOCA. For non Catholics I encourage you to pray your strongest prayers with the same intentions, also for nine consecutive days. The hope is that this will branch and blossom as to become a global effort with maximum impact. We have very little time so we all must act fast. Just do three things:

1) Pass this letter to 5 or more people

2) Do it in three days or less

3) Start the novena on January 11th and pray for nine consecutive days.(please also fast for at least two days during the novena)

Remember that with God all things are possible and the power of prayer is undeniable. If you are against the senseless killing of defenseless children then the time is now to do something about it! May God bless you all!! David Alton(Professor Lord Alton of Liverpool )

Make your voice heard

Lifesite News has an online petition to rescind abortionist Henry Morgentaler's Order of Canada award.
Please go here to sign if you are English Canadian,
La présente pétition est à l’intention des résidents canadiens uniquement,
and American and international signatures are being accepted here. I hope everyone who reads this will take a few moments to register their name on the petition. This is an international effort to influence our Prime Minister to do the right thing and rescind an esteemed award that has deeply offended Canadians who do not want this type of recognition awarded to a baby killer.

A sad day to be Canadian

Today is Canada's birthday, and to celebrate this historic day, our very own Governor General handed the nation's most prestigious award to baby-killer abortionist Henry Morgentaler. Speaking for our nation, Governor General Michaëlle Jean honoured Henry Morgentaler "for his commitment to increased health care options for women, his determined efforts to influence Canadian public policy and his leadership in humanist and civil liberties organizations."

Why do I feel like I have been stabbed in the back? Today I am embarrassed to be Canadian.

LifeSite News has several articles on this travesty, along with an email address to express your concerns to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. I wrote an email stating how appalling this decision is, and I urge all Canadians to do the same. Please ask Stephen Harper to retract the Order of Canada from Henry Morgentaler.

Hearing the cry

We've all heard about the tragedy in China. Today the priest at the Mass I attended said the magnitude of this catastrophe has caused many to question whether God exists. To me, it is glaringly obvious. God does exist. And he is angry. Angry at the loss of human life in the form of China's one-child policy. Angry at their forced abortions and mandatory sterilization rule for anyone who already has one child. Yes, the souls of the unborn are crying out to heaven for vengeance, and God is listening.

Genesis 4:10 10 And he said to him: What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood crieth to me from the earth.

Mommy Dearest

From my email - It's hard to believe this is for real. Brace yourself - Aliza Shvarts, an art major at Yale University impregnated herself multiple times using artificial insemination from willing donors so that she could abort the babies and film the process for a controversial "art" project. The student claims she was not concerned about any medical effects the multiple self-induced abortions would have on her body. I wonder if she is concerned about her soul?

"I believe strongly that art should be a medium for politics and ideologies, not just a commodity," Shvarts said. "I think that I'm creating a project that lives up to the standard of what art is supposed to be."

The display of Schvarts' project will feature a large cube suspended from the ceiling of a room in the gallery of Green Hall. Schvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Schvarts' self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting. Schvarts will then project recorded videos onto the four sides of the cube.

These videos, captured on a VHS camcorder, will show her experiencing miscarriages in her bathrooom tub, she said. Similar videos will be projected onto the walls of the room.

School of Art lecturer Pia Lindman, Schvarts' senior-project advisor, could not be reached for comment Wednesday night. Read the whole story here.
It's hard to believe that anyone can consider this art. Satan will be dancing gleefully along with his hordes of demons at this exhibit.

On Pro Choice Politicians Receiving Holy Communion

Cardinal Arinze makes it sound so simple. Why don't our bishops get it?

"Get the children for first Communion and say to them, 'Somebody votes for the killing of unborn babies, and says, I voted for that, I will vote for that every time.' And these babies are killed not one or two, but in millions, and that person says, 'I'm a practising Catholic', should that person receive Communion next Sunday? The children will answer that at the drop of a hat. You don't need a cardinal to answer that."

Abortionist nominated for Order of Canada

You may have heard that Henry Morgantaler has been nominated for the Order of Canada by a group of pro-choice activists. If, like me, you find this outrageous, you can help by phoning the Governor General's office to register your objection to this ridiculous campaign to place an abortionist in a position of honour for killing the unborn and destroying the lives of women.

From an email I received from Suzanne of Big Blue Wave, here's what you can do:

You must phone the Governor-General's office and tell them that you do not want Henry Morgentaler to receive the Order of Canada. It's easy. First call the Governor-General's Office.

Phone numbers: Ottawa: 613-993-8200
Rest of Canada: 1-800-465-6890

You will get a receptionist. Ask to speak to Madeleine Proulx (pronounced "Prew"). She deals with the Order of Canada. Leave her a voice mail message, stating your name and phone number, and the reasons you object to Henry Morgantaler being considered for the Order of Canada award.

I called her just a few moments ago, and like Suzanne, I got a voice message that asked me to leave my name and phone number. You won't be able to do this anonymously. I registered my objection to Henry Morgantaler being considered for the Order of Canada award, and gave my reasons why. Be sure to be polite and reasonable in your conversation. Please, if you live in Canada, make the phone call. We must keep this man from receiving such an esteemed award.

There is another way you can voice your opinion. Here is a link to a Globe and Mail poll that asks whether Henry Morgantaler should be awarded the Order of Canada. You can only vote once. Right now, it sits at 86% No, and 14% yes.

Please take the time to vote on this poll.

Another abortion death

"The Unborn child is not a potential life, but a life with potential."

This story captured my attention for two reasons: I was just in Hyannis last month, and also it's more proof that abortionists are crazy.

HYANNIS, Mass., Sept. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Reports are coming out of Massachusetts that a 22-year old woman died on September 13, 2007, from hemorrhaging caused by an abortion obtained at Women Health Center in the Cape Cod town of Hyannis. The abortionist responsible for the death is reportedly Rapin Osathanondh, who made headlines in 2001 for threatening to murder five hospital nurses in a fit of rage over misplaced paperwork.

A receptionist at Women Health Center responded in to inquiries about the woman's death with obvious agitation, but would not confirm or deny the abortion death. "I can't help you," she told Operation Rescue....read the rest...

The new Hitlers

The holocaust of abortion is taking on a new trend, as doctors in Massachusetts are now injecting unborn babies with lethal drugs before they abort them. The doctors say it a legal defense tactic, aimed at ensuring the baby they are trying to kill isn't accidentally born alive. I wonder how these so called medical professionals sleep at night? Do they see images of tiny body parts, torn and bloodied, when they close their eyes? Do they ever wake up screaming in fear and disgust for their part in the murder of helpless little babies?

I doubt it. They are too busy counting their financial benefits to even consider giving their moral conscience a second look. They make Adolf Hitler look like a pansy.

Making abortion a Hallmark moment

The new approach to post abortion - sympathy e cards for exercising a woman's constitutional right to abortion to rid herself of an unwanted "mass of tissue" also known in pro life circles as a baby. Hmmm... does this mean that abortion providers are finally starting to recognize that abortion is infanticide and that grieving is necessary?

# 1 Wish in Canada

The race is on between pro life and pro choice proponents for the first place spot in the "Great Canadian Wish List," a Face Book contest that calls on Canadians to post their wishes for Canada’s 140th birthday. It will announce the winning wish on July 1, Canada Day.

As of June 18, the leading wish for Canadians is to “Abolish Abortion in Canada” which had more than 4,200 votes, with “I wish that Canada would remain pro-choice” in second place, almost 1,000 votes behind early in the day but steadily gaining as the day went on.

Naturally, the pro choice advocates are recruiting people to post their wishes that abortion is available to all. If you have access to Face book, register your vote for the Pro Life side. You can even use my Canadian address! ( Just kidding!) Well, maybe not!

Edit - from the comments section, Suzanne left these instructions for voting for the Pro Life side in the Great Canadian Wish contest.

A sign from heaven

Lightening can strike twice in the same spot, especially when the recipient of God's anger is a proponent of abortion.

Thanks to one of my readers for sending me this and the video posted above.
