Catholic Marian Quiz

You are 90% knowledgeable about the Blessed Virgin!

You are truly devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary! You most likely pray the rosary daily and quite possibly have consecrated yourself to Mary. Did you know that St Alphonsus Liguori said that devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary is a sign of predestination?

Ok, it's true I got one wrong on a quiz that I created myself, but I made this quiz up two years ago to celebrate the month of May as being dedicated to Mary, Mother of God. Try it out!

Traditional Catholic Quiz

Here is my newest quiz. It's been awhile since I created one! Sorry I can't make it fit the page properly, but if you click on "full screen", it displays really well. The explanations for the answers can be found on the results page, if you scroll down. Good luck! Hope you pass! (You need 60% to pass.) Those who fail will be subjected to medieval torture devices and made to translate the quiz into Latin by daybreak.

What's Your Penance?

Do you abstain from meat or substitute a penance on Fridays? The Church's current regulations call for Catholics (in the US and Canada) to either abstain from meat on Fridays or to substitute an act of penance or charitable work if you eat meat on this day traditionally devoted to penance. EWTN has a good explanation of the current requirements, which most of us are probably already familiar with. I personally prefer to abstain from meat on Fridays, in keeping with the ancient tradition of penance.

For Catholics - What's your Friday Penance?
Abstain from meat all the Fridays of the year, (excepting Solemnities)
Eat meat but perform some other penitential act as per the current permissions
Penance? Didn't that get done away with by the Second Vatican Council?
Fast and abstain from meat all the Fridays of the year (excepting Solemnities)

Your result for The Who Would You Be in 1400 AD Test...

The Prioress

You are a moral person and are also highly intellectual. You like your solitude but are also kind and helpful to those around you. Guided by a belief in the goodness of mankind you will likely be christened a saint after your life is over.

You scored high as both the Lady and the Monk. You can try again to get a more precise description of either the Monk or the Lady, or you can be happy that you're an individual.

Compared to other takers

  • 4/100 You scored 5% on Cardinal, higher than 4% of your peers.

Catholic Quizzes

It's been a while since I created any quizzes at Salve Regina - they are very time consuming - (see the side bar if you haven't taken them yet and want to). I do plan on taking the time to create some more quizzes, but until then here a few from Beliefnet.com.

See how well you do on these:

Can you spot a liar?

According to Reader's Digest, I'm not very good at spotting a liar.

Quiz: Can You Spot a Liar?
You got 4 out of 10 correct!
Although it's hard to deceive you, you could still use a little help in differentiating fact from fiction.

I guess it's true then that I tend to take people at face value.

Blogger's 'Quiz

Here's a fun quiz made up especially for bloggers. The rules are easy. Just post the quiz on your blog and answer the questions, then pass it on to five other bloggers, and link to them in your post. Be sure to link back to the one who sent it to you.

1. Do you attend the Traditional Latin Mass or the Novus Ordo?
I am kissing the Novus Ordo goodbye! On Sunday we are moving to the big city (West Coast) and I will be able to attend the TLM every day, instead of having to drive all day to get to one. Everything is so far away in Canada!

2. If you attend the TLM, how far do you drive to get there?
Oops! I think I answered that already in #1! It's currently a 560 KM round trip. That's 348 miles for all you metrically challenged Americans. The distance is why I only go once a month.

3. If you had to apply a Catholic label to yourself, what would it be?
Terry's got labels! I think I fall into his Traditional Catholic category, with a little sprinkling of rad trad mixed in.

4. Are you a comment junkie?
No doubt. I wasn't until Karin got me hooked on comments by always popping by my blog and chatting with me in the combox. Now I'm a hopeless addict!

5. Do you go back to read the comments on the blogs you’ve commented on?
Almost always! Sometimes there is more going on in the combox than there is in the post. Plus it's a good way to find new blogs to explore.

6. Have you ever left an anonymous comment on another blog?
Once. Who are you, the blogger's police squad?

7. Which blogroll would you most like to be on?
All of them, of course! Although, I've been waiting forever for Carolina Cannonball to add us to her blogroll.

8. Which blog is the first one you check?
Mine are listed alphabetically, so I usually go from A to Z. But Wife & Mom of Two is at the bottom of that list, and we are good buddies, so I often go in reverse order. I can get pretty tired by the time I've made it through my list of blogs! (Anita, aren't you glad I placed under A for Anita instead of V for Victory?)

9. Have you met any other bloggers in person?
Of course! Divine Mercy is my sister, and so is Shirley. It would be fun to have a bloggers get together and invite all the Catholic bloggers. I think we should hold it at Terry's place. Isn't Abbey Roads the centre of the blogging universe? I would love to meet Anita Moore, Karin and my blogging team members, Dr. Bombay and Louie Verecchio. Oh, and also Cavey.

10. What are you reading?
Anything by St. Alphonsus de Liquori. He is the most incredible Catholic writer! Right now, I'm finishing up "Duties and Dignity of the Priest" and then it'll be "Preparation for Death" by this wonderful saint. I'm also reading "Imitation of Christ" (again).

Bonus Question! Has your site been banned by Spirit of Vatican II? If it has, who do you think Father Tim really is?
Salve Regina was banned early on by the illustrious SOVII. It's a great parody site, and Father Tim's banned list hosts a plethora of great Catholic blogs. In fact, most of his banned blogs are on my blogroll. Now, about who Father Tim really is...I used to think Cardinal Mahoney, but now I'm guessing he's really Sister Chittister. Just kidding Father Tim! We all want to know who you really are! When are you going to let the cat out of the bag?

I pass this quiz on to :
1. Karin at Wife & Mom of Two,
2.Anita Moore at V for Victory,
3.Divine Mercy,
4.Sister Mary Martha,
5.Abbey Roads.
and also to Che Lovell at SOVII, cause hey, maybe he'll tell us who Father Tim really is!

How long do you fast prior to receiving the Holy Eucharist?

For Catholics - which Eucharistic fast do you keep?
I keep the currently required 1 hour Eucharistic fast
I keep the three hour Eucharistic fast
I fast from midnight the night before receiving Holy Communion
Hello! Fasting went out with the Second Vatican Council!
I am absolved from the Eucharistic fast, due to medical reasons

Faith Quiz

Here's a fun quiz that I found over at Divine Mercy blog - hey did you all know that she's my sister?

Take the quiz, and remember, it's from Father Corapi, so don't expect to get off too lightly! I scored 80%, which is barely squeaking by in his books.

New Marian Quiz

May is the month of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so in her honour, I created a quiz for you to test your knowledge of her. There's only ten questions, and you don't need to answer the first two. They are automatically placed there by the site that hosts the quizzes.

If you click on "see the answers" you will see the explanations for any answer you may have gotten wrong. Feel free to post this quiz on your own blog, if you like.

Killer Quiz

How good are you at identifying a killer by his face? Can you tell the difference between a computer geek and a mass murderer? I thought I could, but I only got 6/10 on this quiz. My results said not to seek a career in law enforcement, but it didn't say I shouldn't be a paramedic!

Thanks to one of my readers for passing this on.
