Mommy Dearest

From my email - It's hard to believe this is for real. Brace yourself - Aliza Shvarts, an art major at Yale University impregnated herself multiple times using artificial insemination from willing donors so that she could abort the babies and film the process for a controversial "art" project. The student claims she was not concerned about any medical effects the multiple self-induced abortions would have on her body. I wonder if she is concerned about her soul?

"I believe strongly that art should be a medium for politics and ideologies, not just a commodity," Shvarts said. "I think that I'm creating a project that lives up to the standard of what art is supposed to be."

The display of Schvarts' project will feature a large cube suspended from the ceiling of a room in the gallery of Green Hall. Schvarts will wrap hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting around this cube; lined between layers of the sheeting will be the blood from Schvarts' self-induced miscarriages mixed with Vaseline in order to prevent the blood from drying and to extend the blood throughout the plastic sheeting. Schvarts will then project recorded videos onto the four sides of the cube.

These videos, captured on a VHS camcorder, will show her experiencing miscarriages in her bathrooom tub, she said. Similar videos will be projected onto the walls of the room.

School of Art lecturer Pia Lindman, Schvarts' senior-project advisor, could not be reached for comment Wednesday night. Read the whole story here.
It's hard to believe that anyone can consider this art. Satan will be dancing gleefully along with his hordes of demons at this exhibit.

Diabolic. Demonic. Disgusting. Sickening. This woman must be inspired by the devil. God have mercy on her soul.

I was going to comment PG, but I see Shirley has mostly summed it up for me too.

Intrinsically evil.

I'm really at a loss for words here. I just don't know what to say.

I'm still trying to gather the right words that can capture my reaction to this.

Perhaps this monstrosity will even disgust the "Pro-choicers" out of their ways..

Simply terrible, those holy innocents..
