Calling on Tom!
Lisa Gerrard/Sacrifice
I have never heard of Lisa before; she has an incredibly powerful voice. I just came across this while searching for a video of O Rubor Sanguinis: Antiphon to St. Ursula (which I was unable to find). Perhaps TominVegas can tell us a little about Lisa. I read she makes up "words" as she sings, and that she she sings sounds rather than words.

I do know Lisa Gerrard, or at least her music. Her's is the voice you hear in the song "Now We Are Free" from the movie Gladiator. If I'm not mistaken, what you are hearing in this video is from another great movie called the "Insider." I'm almost sure of it (I’ve seen this film about 2 dozen times)..
Rent it or buy it if you can. It's a great film that also stars Russell Crow. I'm not a huge fan of his, but in this movie I must say he was spectacular:0))
You are correct. She does make up her own language as she goes along in many of her songs. I think (don't quote me on this) that it's her way of communicating the spiritual. Also, in the song "Now We Are Free" she created her own language as well. It's a beautiful song. Buy it if you can:0)

I hadn't heard of her, but after checking her website, http://www.lisagerrard.com/main.html I realised that I have heard her haunting voice on soundtracks; like Gladiator and Black Hawk Down.
Thanks, Tom! I knew you would know something about her. Don't you think it's weird that she makes up her own "language" as she goes along? Her voice is incredible, though. I wonder if she is influenced by New Age spirituality? Does anyone know if that is the direction of her music?
