While I do prefer the traditional Latin Mass and the administration of the Sacraments according to the 1962 liturgical books, the rubrics of the Novus Ordo presuppose that the priest face the altar. I've been to Novus Ordo Masses where the priest is positioned ad orientem, quite a change to say the least.
