Is this just poor theology ?

Jesus was never ordained a priest, according to Father Fitzpatrick, from St. Michael's Cathedral in Toronto. He was just a layman who preached outside the system as a holy man. Did Father Fitzpatrick sleep during seminary training? The blog Just a Layman has an interesting article about this.

These Masses are broadcast on national TV so they have the ability to reach a large audience. Another reason why the Catholic Church in Canada continues to be in such a poor state.

I think that the church in Canada is in dire need of direction- preferrably by the Holy Spirit. Our own diocese has a church where a priests personal agenda superceded the doctrine of Catholic Church. Perhaps priests should have to take refresher courses in theology, doctrine, and rubrics once a year to keep them in touch. Please don't take this as a critisism of priests but as a sincere concern about the direction (or lack thereof) in the Church. Keep praying for more vocations and more holy priests in Canada!

Oh no, feel free to criticize.

You don't need a refresher. This is Catholic 101 for babies, once learnt, never forgotten. He hasn't forgotten, he's got an agenda.

I am so tired of the excuses.

Time for class.

"So Christ also did not glorify Himself, that He might be made a high priest: but He [The father] that said unto Him [Jesus]: Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. As He [The Father] saith also in another place: Thou [Jesus] art a priest for ever, according to the order of Melchisedech...[And] being consummated, He became, to all that obey Him, the cause of eternal salvation. Called by God a high priest according to the order of Melchisedech."

Hebrews 5:5-6, 9-10.

This priest is done, turn him over.

There's more, let's have him well done.

"...which entereth in even within the veil; Where the forerunner Jesus is entered for us, made a high priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech." Hebrews 6:19b-20.

re Christ entering the Holy of Holies (through the veil) in heaven, whereupon He sat down at the right hand of the Father.

Lets have him extra cripsy:

"But Christ, being come an HIGH PRIEST of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hand, that is, not of this creation: Neither by the blood of goats, or of calves, but by His own blood, entered once into the holies, having obtained eternal redemption...[For] Jesus is not entered into the holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into heaven itself, that He may appear now in the presence of God for us." Hebrews 9:11-12, 24.

"Which He wrought in Christ, raising him up from the dead, and setting him on His right hand in the heavenly places." Eph. 1:20.

"Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an HIGH PRIEST, who is set on the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens." Hebrews 8:1

"But this man offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God." Hebrews 10:12

"Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2.

Nah...no way done with this priest, let's carbonize him:

"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly vocation, consider the apostle and HIGH PRIEST of our confession, Jesus." Hebrews 3:1

"Having therefore a great HIGH PRIEST that hath passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God: let us hold fast our confession. For we have not a HIGH PRIEST, who can not have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin." Hebrews 4:14-5.

"For it was fitting that we should have such a HIGH PRIEST, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens." Hebrews 7:26

No excuses. He has an agenda, it's called undermining the sacerdotal priesthood and the sacraments.

Wow, Simon-Peter, your "cooking" metaphor is effective, and funny.

Well, as I running out of ideas for my own blog, I'm just going to have to pinch this as this is, rather annoying.

This is interesting. Martin Luther used the same similar arguments. To get around his excommunication, Luther just decided one day that there was no such thing as a hierarchy Church government, so he did away with Bishops etc, and got rid of what he considered a Roman invention: Apostolic Succession. His reasoning came about from the fact that he did not see that the Apostles were Bishops and so there is no Apostolic Succession.
Its nice to see how much the Novus Ordo continues to become Lutheran.

As another poster remarked, give the name and address of this priest to Fr. Corapi, who will first kick his a$$ and then kick some sense into him.
