A contact database for the TLM

From the Lumen Gentlemen website, where they are collecting names and locations of the Catholic faithful who want to be able to access a Traditional Latin Mass, follow this link to register your interest.

From the website:
The motu proprio has been released! The next step is to start putting the Catholic faithful who want to
assist at the extraordinary form of the Holy Mass in touch with Catholic priests who want to say the extraordinary form of the Holy Mass. Please fill out the form below with your contact information so we can help you make a connection.

Please make sure to include your geographical information (it will be difficult to link you up with others in your area if you don't), as well as an email address so that you can be contacted when a match is found. Your information is private and will not be shared with anyone without your consent. Also, including your parish of registry will be very important for helping to connect people in the same parish who may be unaware of each other.

If our information is private, I wonder how we're supposed to use it to link up with others in our region? I don't see a link to view the current data either.

Hmmmmm.

I think what that means is that your name and address is not shown publicly, but those who deal with the logistics of evaluating this information for the purposes it is intended for will of course have access to it. I'm not in the least bit worried about submitting my name.

I have already and didn't think about the other consideratons until afterward.

When the Spirit of Vatican II police show up at my door with a rainbow sash and CDs of Shutte, Haugen, and Haas, I'm blaming it all on you! :-)

Sure, send them my way. I'm just going to send them over the Caveman, anyway! ;}

Thanks for letting us know about this!

But it's already been 15 minutes since I signed up and no one has contacted me yet.

Patience, Manfred, patience! You have to wait at least another 15 minutes. ;}

Dear paramedicgirl,

I really must thank you for pointing me to this site.

This "Jacob Michael" fella has some really great articles!

E.g., this on one of my all-time favorite topics, Bible translations:

Gratefully,
Manfred

Manfred, I'm glad your found your favourite topic there! Did he apologize to you for talking more than 15 minutes to get back to you? LOL! They were pretty quick, though, just a day or two to tabulate all their data and contact everyone.

paramedicgirl and others,

Just after Mass this morning (2007-07-15) I asked one of our "younger" priests (he's over 60, so he must remember the TLM from his youth, right?) if he wwas brushing up on his Latin; his response? "No way!" as if the motu proprio was just another in a series of Vatican or Papal directives to be taken with a grain of salt and then ignored. I did a slow burn and walked away.

Anyone else experience something like this?

Mnfred, my priest surprised me by asking me after Mass if I had read the Motu Proprio, and then he told me that the CCCB has placed on their website an announcement about implementing it (I can't find the announcement). Anyway, he and I both agreed that there will be much training required for the laity so that they do not expect to see females in the sanctuary or any other lay involvement that is common to the NO. He said he is going to learn the necessary Latin with the help of an FSSP priest friend, who he said, may come here to help with the TLM. OK, I was totally surprised!
