Giveaway

I love receiving book orders from Tan Publishers, and today I received several books; two copies of Attaining Salvation by St Alphonsus Liquori; The Great Magdalens (Famous Women Who Returned to God after Lives of Sin) by Msgr. Hugh Francis Blunt; and two copies of the 2009 Saints Calendar and Daily Planner.

Why two copies of some books you wonder? Well, part of the reason I have this blog is to give away spiritual readings and other opportunities to my readers. If you follow Salve Regina, you will know that I regularly send Catholic books to readers, often after running a contest of some sort. I also have Masses said for readers who send me their names, and sometimes even for other bloggers who I am in contact with.

Here's what I am doing with the extra copies of these two books. I am giving one copy of Attaining Salvation to my sister Shirley from the blog Seeking Jesus (one of the best spiritual blogs on my blogroll), and the copy of the Daily Saints Planner is up for grabs. If you are a student or are otherwise in need of a daily planner that will help to keep you focused on the liturgical year as you go about your busy life, leave a comment below or email me. I will choose someone to send it to within a week.

And if you are in the need of sacramentals to adorn your home and elevate your heart and mind to prayer, don't forget about this giveaway.

Hello! This is an amazing blog, I just found it today and am reading it for the first time, and then I see you have this planner! Yes, I am a college student, and this would be wonderful to have and would be put to extremely good use : )!! I've been hoping to find a nice planner all month, but hadn't seen one that didn’t have strange cats or something all over it! My school is not Catholic, and I get asked if I'm Jewish a lot (all the long skirts I wear : ) ?) so, I would love to be able to put this on my desk for everyone to see too : ) It looks really beautiful as well! Thank you for offering the chance to get it!

Sincerely In Christ,
Olivia

Thank you for the St. Alphonsus book! If I understand it correctly, this is the new publication of Preparation For Death only with a new title?
By the way, love your sidebar prayer for Joe.

Shirley, Attaining Salvation is a series of 45 spiritual reflections written when St. Alphonsus was 77 years old. It is a fairly thin book, with short chapters, filled with Scriptural quotes as well as quotes from the saints, with meditations to follow. You will love it, I'm sure. St Alphonsus is the greatest Catholic writer of all time.

The planner would be a great reminder of the liturgica l calendar in the midst of my hectic school and work commitments. I get the parish calendar each year, but it's not where I look for day-to-day planning.
