The Grace of the Priesthood

Pray for vocations, that you may get priests who live and teach the Faith. Do you have twenty-eight minutes to spare? Here are three videos, about nine minutes each, put out by the FSSP, called "To God Who Giveth Joy To My Youth."

If you have never attended a Traditional Latin Mass, be prepared to see God glorified in all His Majesty, as these videos will show.

No time to listen, but wanted to chime in about the traditional Mass in Latin and the FSSP priests. What a blessing they are. I never tire of assisting at the traditional Rite of Mass, and these priests celebrate it so beautifully. I miss my former FSSP parish in San Diego. The FSSP priests are dedicated and knowledgeable about the faith. I look forward to seeing the videos later. Thank you.

Robert, I am also currently away from my former FSSP parish. We had to move, and there is only the Novus Ordo Mass where I now live. My FSSP pastor used to be in California; Father Deprey.

BTW, these videos are more than just the Mass. I was surprised at how they captured my attention. I watched the first one twice; the others just once.

Don't get me wrong, I also attend an FSSP parish and think that the community has and is continuing to do great work alongside other traditional communities (ie the Institute of Christ the King, the Institute of the Good Shepherd, etc), I myself am discerning a vocation to the FSSP. However, we cannot forget those wonderful diocesan priests who have suffered so much during the last forty years because of their love for the traditional Latin Mass and for a reverent celebration of the Novus Ordo. I personally know and am good friends with one such priests. Let's always remember those wonderful diocesan priests who made and continue to make such sacrifices.

Anon, it is wonderful you are discerning a vocation to the priesthood. If you send me your name, I will have a Mass said for your vocation. You can find my email address on my profile. I pray the rosary every day for good, holy priests to be formed in our seminaries, and I will add your name to that list as well, if you like.

I second the first Anonymous. Pray for the good priests who are hated and despised because of their love for the Traditional Latin Mass

as you knopw, iam blessed to be able to go to a TLM in my area. SSPX yes, but its wonderful. i got lectured by father today. on what? on toning down my temper. he knows my temper can boil over sometimes and he reminded me when i told him that i was irritated today at someone, that i should exercise a little more patience even if someone stuck it to me. no i was not uncharitable to this woman, but i told father what happened and he lectured me alright. i felt really guilty for being irritated. i hate it when people do things to mess me over. i told father this, and he said i was right but not to be irritated. its hard not to.beign a nicholas with our tempers is not always easy. my goal in life is to mellow out and not be crabby. sure is hard sometimes!!!! this is a cross i bear. believe me.

Hello...this is the same anonymous who made the diocesan comment, I am still uncomfortable with giving my name over the internet, even if it is in an email. However, I would appreciate your prayers for my vocation, that God would indeed choose me as a priest. Masses offered would be appreciated as well. May God bless you! I will remember you in my prayers as well.

I just watched the videos & I loved them. I've always wished we had an FSSP parish near us, however we are fortunate to have a TLM just 15 min away. We used to drive 45 min each way to Sunday Mass for the TLM.

I'm so glad you posted these, it just reminds me to keep praying for an increase in faithful and traditionally minded Priests.

Molly, I have been praying for traditional vocations for years now, and I also have Masses said for those whom I know are discerning a vocation. I once had thirty six Masses said over a twelve month period for a special friend who knew he was being called, but was avoiding the call. He is now in the seminary!
